(1) How many foster carers registered with the Department of Child Protection and Family Support (DCPaFS) reside in: (a) the South West region; (b) greater Bunbury; (c) Busselton; (d) Margaret River; and (e) Manjimup? (2) In relation to (1), how many of the foster carers in each area specified were approved by a community sector organisation as opposed to the DCPaFS? (3) How many children are in foster care, and reside in each of the areas specified in (1)? (4) Has the DCPaFS procured general foster care services in the South West region? (5) If yes to (4), what organisations are providing these services, and how many children are in their care?

(1) As at 19 May 2015:
(a) the South West region - 163
(b) greater Bunbury - 92
(c) Busselton - 15
(d) Margaret River - 6
(e) Manjimup - 6
(2) All foster carers in the response provided to question 1 have been approved by the Department of Child Protection and Family Support.
However, there are community sector approved carers who reside in the South West region:
(a) the South West region - 34
(b) greater Bunbury - 25
(c) Busselton - 1
(d) Margaret River - 4
(e) Manjimup - 1
(3) As at 19 May 2015:
(a) the South West region - 287 children
(b) greater Bunbury - 171 children
(c) Busselton - 25 children
(d) Margaret River - 6 children
(e) Manjimup - 8 children
(4) The Department commenced a contract on 1 April 2015 with Agencies for South West Accommodation Inc (trading as Accordwest) for the provision of 5 general foster care placements in the South West region.
(5) As the contract has only recently commenced, Accordwest are working to establish the program and do not currently have any children in their general foster care program at this early stage.
