(1) Resources are allocated to deliver clinical intervention programs to
support rehabilitation based on highest demand and risk.
Programs can generally be separated into five categories:
1. Those that address risk factors associated with violence
2. Cognitive skills programs
3. General offending programs
4. Sex offending, and
5. Substance use offending.
The programs available to prisoners provide them an opportunity to better
understand their offending behaviour and develop skills to avoid reoffending
upon their release from custody.
The Department delivers criminogenic programs to offenders in custodial
settings.
