Boorloo Bridge
1169. Hon Steve Martin to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the $187 million
Boorloo Bridge, which opened less than a year ago, and reports on 17 November
that heavy duty lighting casing fell from the structure, reportedly just
missing a passing cyclist. I also refer to the minister's response to question
without notice 1070 on the topic.
(1) On what date was the bridge reopened?
(2) What was the cause of the incident and what
was done to resolve the issue?
(3) In relation to (2), at what cost was it
resolved?
(4) Will the minister table a report from Main
Roads Western Australia outlining the results of its investigation?
(5) Has a reassessment of the safety and integrity
of the entire bridge taken place?
(6) Have any other issues been discovered as a
result of these processes?
(7) How many crossings occur on the bridge, on
average, per day?
