LOCAL GOVERNMENT — LOCAL LAWS WORKING GROUP
1370. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Local Government:
I refer the minister to the
statement made in the Legislative Council by Hon Lorna Harper, MLC, on 18 April
2024 in her role as Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated
Legislation, in which she made reference to the local laws working group, hosted
by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, on 4 May
2023.
(1) Is this working group still
active?
(2) If yes to (1), when did it last
meet?
(3) What is or was the group's
remit?

The following response has been
provided by the Minister for Local Government. I note that the response was
provided and was correct as of 19 September.
(1) The working group meets as
required.
(2) On 4 May 2023.
(3) The working
group is convened to provide a forum for the Joint Standing Committee on
Delegated Legislation to meet with relevant agencies and stakeholders to have
an administrative or advisory role in the process of local governments making
laws.
