ABORIGINAL
SUICIDES GRAPH — CORONER'S REPORT
409. Hon ADELE FARINA to the
Attorney General:
I refer to the Aboriginal suicides graph tabled by the
Minister for Mental Health earlier today.
(1) Noting
that the source of the data was a coroner's report, will the Attorney
General give an undertaking to table the coroner's report at tomorrow's
sitting?
(2) If no to (1), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for the question.
(1) No, I will
not give an undertaking to do that. If the member requires the report, I will
take advice on whether it is a report that is in a form that is suitable for
tabling and whether it contains any information that may be provided by the
coroner that is appropriate for public dissemination.
(2) If I
choose not to table the report, I will give that advice at the time that I make
that decision. If the member is after some specific information, it would be
helpful if she gave notice of that and asked for it and then I will undertake,
with my best intentions, to provide that data.
