The Approved Strength variation between 2009 and 2010 reflects the outcome of the restructure of South Metropolitan and Peel Districts.
Western Australia Police has moved from monthly reporting to quarterly reporting of staff numbers. Therefore, the closest quarter to the requested date of 30 April is 31 March. The actual strength number includes officers on Leave Without Pay.
The employment of Cadets as Auxiliary Officers caused the increase in the actual numbers for 2014.
The response required for parts of questions (d)-(g) relating to the actual officers undertaking detectives and forensic roles in the districts would take a significant amount of time and resources to collate and process. It is therefore not possible for Police to obtain this information without significantly compromising other core services.
