Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital—Radioactive
leakage
732. Hon Phil Twiss to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health
Infrastructure:
Further to my
question without notice 705 on the reported radioactive leak at Sir Charles
Gairdner Hospital that was later found to be non-hazardous, I ask the
following.
(1) Was the physicist who advised that there was
no issue an appointed radiation safety officer for Sir Charles Gairdner
Hospital?
(2) Was a written statement or report confirming
that it was not hazardous submitted to the appropriate authorities?
(3) If yes to (2), will the minister share this
document with the house?
(4) If no to (2), is it standard practice when
radiation leaks are reported not to keep written records when no issue has been
found?
