QuestionView source ↗
(1) Has the Government given any recent consideration to a rail link under the Swan River between the existing Claremont Railway Station and with Stock Road at Point Walter?
(2) Does the Government concede there is professional opinion supporting such a route as an alternative to the Kwinana Freeway?
(3) Is it correct that there is already existing space along Stock Road and that there are in existence long-standing easements over relevant properties for future works?
(4) Does the Government recognise the huge catchment involved in such a route?
(5) Does the Government also recognise that at the southern end of Stock Road there is an existing railway line to Rockingham, and thus potentially to Mandurah?
(6) Is it not conceded that such a route would provide catchments on either side of a line, unlike South Perth-Como which can only ever provide a catchment on one side only?
(7) If none of these issues has been considered in detail will the Minister advise why?
