(2) Yes (3) Lotterywest contacted a person employed by the Shire of Busselton who was named by the Festival of Busselton as a referee to discuss the application received from the Festival of Busselton (4) The Shire advised Lotterywest on their understanding of the event, its value to the Busselton community, and its relationship to other festivals being staged at the same time of the year. They also discussed their desire to achieve greater co-ordination between the Busselton Beach Festival and the Festival of Busselton, but that this had not been possible for this year’s events (5) No. The Festival of Busselton withdrew their application for a grant. This followed discussion between Lotterywest and the Festival of Busselton on the merits of the proposal and issues identified with the application.
