Department of State Development advises:
(1-2a) As part of the development of the proposed Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area, the Department of State Development is working with proponents and government agencies in the assessment of water options to support both the proposed industrial area and the related social infrastructure.
Currently, a hydrology study is underway to examine possible water options for the proposed project and the study is expected to be completed at the end of December 2010.
Further commitments on water supply for the proposed project will depend on the final investment decision by the proponent expected mid 2011.
