ELIZABETH
QUAY — FLORENCE HUMMERSTON BUILDING
268. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the
minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to media reports citing $400 000 to deconstruct the
Florence Hummerston building and to state government tender MRA 00230 awarding
approximately $1.354 million for the work to Colgan Industries builders.
(1) Are media reports of $400 000
accurate?
(2) If yes to (1), what is the
explanation for the difference in the cost?
(3) Will the
Minister for Planning table the original tender documents for tender MRA 00230;
and, if not, why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) The deconstruction cost of the Florence Hummerston
building was $442 725.
(2) The tender
was let to Colgan Industries in June 2012 for $1.354 million, which included
both the amount for the deconstruction of the building and a provisional sum
for the future reconstruction of the building. The provision for the
reconstruction of the building did not proceed by mutual agreement.
(3) Yes. I table the attached paper. [See paper 2651.]
