ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT — LEGAL ADVICE
452. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. It
is up to the Premier as to whether he will table that advice. He can waive that
privilege if he wishes. I ask again: will he table the advice he received on
this matter?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please.

We will not be. That is what
responsible government is about. We will make sure that we maintain that. We
could release it, but that would be an extraordinary precedent to set. The next
thing we know opposition members would come in and ask whether we could release
the legal advice we received in relation to Clive Palmer and the actions he has
brought against the government. That would be most inappropriate. I understand
the political point the member is trying to make, but I am sure that, as an
experienced member of Parliament, he will appreciate that that is not the
process.
