In relation to the privatisation of Homeswest housing maintenance:
(a) who approved the decision to move to a privatised head contractor model of housing maintenance and what date was this decision approved;
(b) what process was undertaken to investigate potential models for the privatisation (reviews, reports, research, investigation of models in other states or countries etcetera) and who was responsible for this process;
(c) was any travel taken by Ministerial or departmental staff to other jurisdictions to investigate different privatisation models of state housing maintenance; and
(i) if yes, which staff (list name and position) travelled;
(ii) on what date(s) was the travel undertaken;
(iii) where did the staff travel; and
(iv) who did the staff visit or meet with; and
(d) in the course of investigating potential privatised maintenance models whilst travelling, did any Department of Housing or Ministerial staff receive hospitality, gifts or cash-in-kind from any of the companies that tendered for the contract, and, if so, was this declared?

(a) The Department has not privatised its housing maintenance services. The Department's Corporate Executive gave approval to move to a head contractor model on 10 February 2010.
