Minister for Regional Development representing the Minister for Water, I
provide the following answer.
(1) As is normal
business practice, the department reviews all its vacant positions to determine
whether they need to be filled to meet business needs.
(2) The
department does not have a specific number of unfilled positions. It reviews
required positions based on business need and in accordance with its annual
budget.
(3) The department expects to
achieve savings of approximately $600 000 by 30 June 2020.
(4) The
department continues to review functions and resources, and recruits internally
and externally for these positions based on business need.
