To enable informed consideration to be given to Main Roads’ proposal for a pedestrian crossing on Guildford Road between Falkirk Avenue and Caledonian Avenue, Maylands, will the minister table - (1) the details of the findings of a Main Roads pedestrian survey conducted in the vicinity of Guildford Road and Caledonian Avenue; (2) the details of the findings of a road safety audit of Guildford Road, Maylands, which was undertaken in July 2004; (3) a summary of the nature of road crashes between Falkirk Avenue and Caledonian Avenue in each of the past five years; and (4) details of any pedestrian-related crashes between Ninth Avenue and Caledonian Avenue, Maylands, in each of the past five years? (3) The traffic study covered the section of Guildford Road between Caledonian Avenue and Ninth Avenue. A summary of the nature of crashes reported on that section in the past five years is: pedestrian, 2; right angle, 28; right angle through, 4; rear end, 17; manoeuvring, 4; hit object, 1; and out of control, 4. That is, a total of 60. (4) Two hit-pedestrian crashes have been reported within the study area in the past five years. Both of those occurred in 2004 and involved pedestrians attempting to cross Guildford Road at Caledonian Avenue. [See paper 657.]
