ELECTRICITY PRICES, REGIONAL SMALL BUSINESSES AND FARMS
Given the Premier’s answer, will he now detail the amount of subsidy payable to the already heavily subsidised businesses that are within those 50? Dr GALLOP

The Leader of the Opposition is totally missing the point. There is a view in Western Australia that a person should get a fair go wherever he lives or conducts a business. I visited Esperance, Carnarvon, Exmouth, Kununurra and Derby and the theme was the same all the way through; the Government was asked by local government and local chambers of commerce to change this policy that is stopping those areas from expanding and creating new jobs. The Government, through its energy authority, subsidises regional consumers throughout Western Australia. It is proud of that and will continue to do it.
