(1)-(6) Media Monitors Pty Ltd is an experienced provider of comprehensive media monitoring services to government and the private sector. The service provided to the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection includes comprehensive monitoring of print and broadcast media Australia wide. The information is provided via a mediaportal internet service which delivers press clippings, television and radio broadcasts digitally to the department daily, seven days a week. All clippings and broadcast summaries are delivered to a searchable 90-day online archive available 24/7. This information covers areas of interest to the department. Other products such as transcripts, audio and video clips are also available on request as is the ability to distribute media statements if required. The total cost of the contract is $400,000 over a four year period (2 + 2) or $100,000 per annum. There is a cost saving by having one contract for the whole of the department rather than by separate divisions, as was the case prior to September 2006. This is due to there now being only one retainer or administration fee.
