representing the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to my question without
notice 1226 of 27 November 2018 regarding the Young People with Exceptionally
Complex Needs program.
(1) Has the department now
considered the recommendations of the review?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1) —
(a) will the minister please table
the review report; and
(b) will any changes be made to the
program?
(4) If yes to (3)(b), what changes
will be made and when will they be made?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Yes, the Department of
Communities has considered the review and its recommendations.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) (a) I am
advised that the report has now been finalised; however, I have not been
briefed on it yet. Once this occurs I will be happy to provide the member with
a briefing on the report.
(b) A workshop is
being held in May 2019 between the Department of Communities and senior staff
from other state government partner agencies to discuss the review's
recommendations and potential implementation.
(4) Implementation,
including potential changes to the program and time frames, will be identified
following the workshop mentioned in (3)(b).
