DEPARTMENT
OF HEALTH — TARGETED REDUNDANCY PROGRAM
435. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Minister for Health:
I have a supplementary question. Can the Minister for Health
confirm that he provided information to the other place that 420 staff will be
cut? I again ask: why did he hide these cuts in the state budget?

No cuts have been hidden from the state budget. The state
budget details an increase in funding for Health, which is overall 1.3 per cent;
but funding to individual hospitals will increase by 4.6 per cent. That covers
the full range of employment—full-time equivalent numbers—for
the future of the Department of Health. Nothing has been hidden and I invite
the member for West Swan to go through those details at estimates.
