CORONAVIRUS —
VACCINATIONS — BOOSTERS
305. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the
advice released by ATAGI in relation to COVID-19 vaccine booster shots.
(1) How will the government communicate that COVID-19
vaccine booster shots are no longer recommended for people under the age
of 18 who have no risk factors?
(2) How will the government communicate that COVID-19
vaccine booster shots are no longer recommended for children under the
age of five, even if they have underlying health conditions?
(3) How many Western
Australians are currently ''up to date'' with their immunisation
status?

AnswerView source ↗

(1) The
Department of Health sent a vaccine update e-newsletter with updated vaccine
booster information from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on
Immunisation on 14 February 2023. The Department of Health also updated the 2023 booster advice on its COVID-19 vaccine
webpage. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet promotes next dose
messaging through its social media channels and websites.
(2) As above.
(3) The number of
people aged five years and over who are up to date based on a two-dose primary
course in WA is 2 285 111, based on publicly available vaccination coverage
data current to 8 March 2023.
