The Fixed Capital Charge (FCC) Consultation Paper was released for comment in December 2025, and feedback is currently under consideration.
The proposal involved the introduction of a simplified charge for all new and expanded generation, storage, and load connections of 10 megawatts or larger. This would replace the existing, variable ‘shared assets’ component of Western Power’s capital contributions framework.
The FCC is intended to provide industry with greater certainty and clarity regarding anticipated costs to connect to Western Power’s transmission network.
