572. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
(1) Other than Lake Yindarlgooda ,
have any other registered sites or other heritage places changed to other
stored data within the goldfields or Yilgarn regions?
(2) If yes to (1),
will the minister please provide the other heritage site and/or site
registration numbers?
(3) If yes to (1), will the minister please
table a list of numbers, locations and other relevant information?
(4) If no to (2)
and/or (3), why not?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Yes. The Department of Aboriginal AffairsXXX ###XXX Aboriginal heritage inquiry system has two
categories—registered and other heritage places. Stored data is a
subset of the other heritage places category.
The Department of Aboriginal Affairs has identified 336 places in the
goldfields and Yilgarn regions that have changed to
stored data status. There have been 335 of these assessed by the Aboriginal
Cultural Material Committee against section 5 of the Aboriginal Heritage Act
1972.
(2)–(3) Yes,
