FORRESTFIELD–AIRPORT LINK —
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
1002. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to complaints received by my office from constituents
living in close proximity to the proposed airport train station, alleging that
recent community consultation meetings have taken the form of information
displays, and did not include opportunities for discussion or public questions
to department spokespeople.
(1) Does the
minister feel that proper consultation with these residents has been achieved
with the consultation format outlined?
(2) Are there
plans to conduct further community consultation with these residents that will
provide an opportunity for public discussion and questions?

(1)–(2)
The community information sessions held to date have been the start of a
consultation process that will run between various phases of the Forrestfield–Airport
Link project until the railway commences operation. It should be noted,
however, that the five sessions held to date have provided the opportunity for
residents to ask questions of the Public Transport Authority project staff who
have been in attendance.
