(2) The DoW, as distinct from the WRC, has one gazetted position, namely that of the Acting Director General which is classified as a S3. The position of Director General has been advertised and is currently going through the selection process. The DoW is in the process of finalising its structure with the recent definition of positions to the third tier - Branch and Regional Manager level. (3) The most senior staff positions created for the DoW within the WRC are the Director General and four Director positions with the following titles and acting incumbents: Paul Frewer - Acting Director General John Loney - Acting Director Water Resources Policy and Planning John Ruprecht - Acting Director Water Resource Management Robert Hammond - Acting Director Water Resource Use Paul Rosair - Acting Director Water Resource Business Operations (4) The DoW is being created within the existing WRC pending the legislative changes necessary to create the DoW independent of the WRC. Allocated Consolidated Fund funding on a cash basis for WRC in 2005-06 was $61.087m. In 2006/07 not withstanding that some funding adjustments will be required for the transfer of functions between Department of Environment (DoE) and DoW and other functions to be transferred from the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), funding for WRC on a cash basis in 2006-07 currently stands at $66.095m.
