(1) When the Complaints Management Unit (CMU) questions a teacher or administrator over a suspicion of a breach of discipline during a CMU investigation, is the teacher or administrator entitled to have legal or union representation present?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), is the Complaints Management Unit investigator obliged to inform the teacher or administrator that they are entitled to legal or union representation when they are interviewed?
(4) If a teacher or administrator who is investigated by the Complaints Management Unit for a suspected breach of discipline has English as a second language, is there an obligation on the CMU investigator to provide a translator for the teacher or administrator during the investigation interview?

(2) Not applicable. (3) All employees who are the subject of a disciplinary investigation (the respondent) are informed, in writing, of the right to have a support person present during interviews. (4) If English is a second language to a respondent and either indicates or is perceived by an investigator as having a difficulty in understanding English, the investigator can notify the Complaints Management Unit of the need for an interpreter and this will be arranged.
