(b) if so, who is responsible for the repair?
It is assumed that "associated structures" referred to in the question includes all infrastructure directly associated with the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) facility, including non-structural elements such as the car park. As reported in the Sunday Times in December 2005, Multiplex Constructions Pty Ltd has alleged that construction activity on the New MetroRail project has contributed to settlement in the PCEC car park. Multiplex has made similar allegations in relation to isolated, minor cracking to a concrete slab. Contractor Leighton Kumagai has strongly denied any suggestion that its construction activities have had any such impact on PCEC. Multiplex has yet to lodge any damages claim in support of its allegations. In answer to the Member's questions: (a) As noted above, no details have been provided. (b) It is not established that there has been any damage attributable to the project. In any event the State is protected by public liability insurance.
