I again ask this question on behalf of the Leader of the Opposition. Can the minister table the initial correspondence from the Government to the Gorgon proponents, dated November 2001, advising the proponents that the Government is willing to consider the use of Barrow Island for the development of the Gorgon gas field; and if not, why not? I thank the member for some notice of this question. This letter is public information and appears on page 300 of the Gorgon joint venture’s environmental, social and economic review document. A copy of this document has been available in the Parliamentary Library for members’ reference and perusal since the public release in February 2003. It also appears on the Gorgon project web site. However, the Minister for State Development is willing to table the letter if the member so desires.
