(1) For each of the past five financial years, and year-to-date for 2025–26, how many Corrective Services Officers have been on long-term sick leave, broken down by facility? (2) For the same period, how many Corrective Services Officers have been on long-term leave for physical injury reasons, broken down by facility? (3) For the same period, how many Corrective Services Officers have been on long-term leave for mental health reasons, broken down by facility? (4) For the officers identified in 1): (a) what is the definition used by the Department for “long-term leave”; (b) what has been the average and maximum duration of long-term leave; and (c) how many officers on long-term leave subsequently returned to work, and how many did not return to work? (5) How many positions are currently vacant or require backfilling as a direct result of officers on long-term leave, and how are these vacancies being covered (e.g. overtime, redeployment, casual or agency staff)? (6) What policies, programs or supports does the Department currently provide to reduce the incidence of long-term leave for physical or mental health reasons, and what monitoring is undertaken to measure the effectiveness of these programs? (7) Has the Department undertaken any recent reviews or assessments into the causes and impacts of long-term sick leave among Corrective Services Officers, and if so, please provide those findings?

Compiling this information would demand diverting staff away from their operational duties and as a consequence, it is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of resources. I note the Member asked 17 different questions of similar nature in length concurrently.
