351. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the minister representing the
Minister for Environment:
(1) Has the
nutrient offset policy for the Swan–Canning catchment been finalised?
(2) What is
the current requirement for stripping nitrogen from groundwater discharge?
(3) In
relation to the Perth Waterfront development and the Perth major stadium
project, what total nitrogen trigger value for dewatering discharge to the Swan
River is the Swan River Trust intending to impose?

I thank the
member for some notice of the question.
(1) No.
(2) For
disposal of dewatering effluent to the Swan–Canning, the Swan River
Trust recommends that the acceptable level of total nitrogen should be no more
than one milligram per litre.
(3) The
criteria to be applied to the Perth Waterfront development and the Perth major
stadium will be the same as other projects.
