Coroners Act 1996—Statutory
review
1088. Hon Nick Goiran to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Attorney General:
I refer to section
57 of the Coroners Act 1996 , which requires
the Attorney General to carry out a review of the act every fifth anniversary
after commencement, and to the Law Reform Commission of WA's final report on
project 100 entitled Review of Coronial Practice in
Western Australia .
(1) When was the last statutory review due?
(2) Was it done?
(3) If no to (2), will the Attorney General provide
an indicative date for its completion?
(4) Is the Attorney General aware that on 15
October last year, the house was informed: "Of the recommendations under
the responsibility of the Department of Justice, 78 are yet to be fully
implemented"?
(5) How
many of project 100's recommendations now remain to be implemented?
