I refer to the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements Category A funding for the Kimberley Floods recovery, and I ask: (a) in regards to the $10,500 payments to repair or replace essential items please identify: (i) the total funding available for this program; (ii) the number of applications received to date; (iii) the number of applications approved to date; and (iv) the total funding dispersed to date; and (b) in regards to the $50,000 payments for essential repairs to housing, please identify: (i) the total funding available for this program; (ii) the number of applications received to date; (iii) the number of applications approved to date; and (iv) the total funding dispersed to date?

The Department of Communities (Communities) advises:
(a) (i) Access to the Category A funding for the Kimberley Floods Recovery is limited to eligible applicants, however there is no cap regarding the total amount of funding available under this program.
(a) (ii) As at 3 November 2023, 126 applications have been received.
(a) (iii) As at 3 November 2023, 32 applications have been approved.
(a) (iv) As at 3 November 2023, $283,838.81 has been approved for eligible applications.
(b) (i) Access to Category A funding for the Kimberley Floods Recovery is limited to eligible applicants, however there is no cap regarding the total amount of funding available under this program.
(b) (ii - iv) As at 3 November 2023, no Financial Assistance applications for this category have yet been received. Communities continues to make information about this funding available to the community. Many households impacted by the floods are tenants of Communities and/or Government supported.
