ASSET SALES PROGRAM — UTAH POINT
308. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Just to clarify, will the Premier still proceed with these two sales; and, if
so, when? Has the Premier reappraised the value of these assets downwards in
light of the reduced iron ore price and reduced volumes through these
particular terminals?

I think it is pretty obvious. Atlas
Iron is one of the major users of Utah Point. Atlas is not currently producing
and, obviously, that would impact. We will proceed, but if we get to the point
at which the valuation is considered to be too low, we will not sell the asset,
and that applies to any asset. This is not a fire sale situation. Just because
the government may put an asset up for sale, it does not mean that we will
necessarily sell it. If we do not get what we consider to be a good price, we
will retain public ownership.
