DEPARTMENT FOR CHILD PROTECTION AND FAMILY SUPPORT —HOMELESS
FAMILY — FREMANTLE
791. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the minister
representing the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to the article in The West Australian of 25 July 2016
titled ''Baby among Fremantle's homeless''.
(1) Has the
Department for Child Protection and Family Support made contact with all five
homeless families, including the 15 children?
(2) What support has been provided
to each of the five families mentioned?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) Yes. The
one-year-old child referred to in the article was not sleeping rough. The
father self-reported as sleeping rough and that he has three children; however,
none of the children was in the father's care.
(2) All the
families are being provided appropriate support through St Patrick's
services, including accommodation as required.
(3) Not applicable.
