I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1)–(3) An agreement to
purchase has not been finalised.
(4) The
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority requires developments in its central Perth
redevelopment area to include affordable housing. This is consistent with a longstanding
policy to deliver affordable housing in redevelopment areas. The Housing
Authority has been in discussions with the MRA and the developer of The Towers
to deliver that outcome.
(5) In 2014–15,
one unit in Soda Apartments, 19 Lindsay Street, Perth was purchased; and nine
units at Queens Riverside QIII, 10 Adelaide Terrace, East Perth were purchased.
In 2015–16, 34 units in Queens Riverside QI and QII, 10 Adelaide
Terrace, East Perth were purchased.
In addition, the Housing Authority
has delivered, through partnerships with private developers, 18 units in One on
Aberdeen, 15 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge; and three units in Abode Apartments,
6 Campbell Street, West Perth. Both of these developments also include public
housing and affordable rentals.
