I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for Local Government and Regional Development has supplied the following answer - (1) It is assumed that the member is referring to matters involving Adam Spagnolo. The department has not undertaken an investigation or review of those matters. Under the Local Government Act 1995, the department cannot formally inquire into matters concerning elections run by the Western Australian Electoral Commission. Furthermore, it would be premature for the department to conduct a review while the matter is before the courts. (2) No. The department understands that the Corruption and Crime Commission intends to produce a report on this matter. The department will provide the minister with a full written report when the CCC’s report is available. (3) Not applicable.
