(1) Have there been any surveys, studies or reports carried out on the effect the works on the construction of Elizabeth Quay is having on the existing businesses – for example restaurants, bars, boat tour operators, cafés in the Barrack Street Jetty precinct: (a) if yes, what were the results of those surveys, studies or reports; and (b) if not, why not? (2) Is the Minister considering an investigation into the effect work on Elizabeth Quay is having on existing businesses in the Barrack Street Jetty precinct if one has not already been undertaken: (a) if yes, when will the Minister make a decision on whether to commission this investigation; and (b) if not, why not?

(b) The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority has implemented a range of initiatives to help address any impacts on Barrack Street Jetty traders during the construction of Elizabeth Quay. This includes the development of a dedicated website for the precinct, additional signage and marketing initiatives, and a range of improvements including the installation of a children's playground, cyclist facilities, lighting, shade and seating.
Further provision will be made for bus drop-off, temporary additional parking and kiss 'n' ride facilities during the next phase of works.

(b) The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority continues to meet with traders on a regular basis to address their needs and to ensure they are kept well informed about the project. The Government has committed more than $20 million to improve the Barrack Street Jetty Precinct as part of the Elizabeth Quay project, which will bring significant benefits to the traders.
