ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT
602. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the Department
of Planning, Lands and Heritage's map viewer that will be used to help
landowners ascertain whether they
have Aboriginal cultural heritage on their land as part of the implementation
of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act from 1 July.
(1) Will the map viewer be freely available to all landowners
after 1 July?
(a) If no, what will the fee be
per access, and will an annual subscription be available?
(2) Can landowners be assured that if no ACH is identified on
the map viewer, that no ACH exists?
(3) Will the
lack of a site on the map viewer provide legal protection against prosecution
for not applying for a tier 2 permit?
