COMMUNITY
SERVICES REQUEST FOR PARENTING SERVICES — TENDER
726. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the minister
representing the Minister for Community Services:
I refer to the early tender advice
for the community services request for parenting services, advertised to open
on 6 September.
(1) On what date will the tender
close?
(2) Is the minister satisfied this
time frame is adequate for tenderers to compile their applications?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) The Department of Local Government and Communities
commenced a comprehensive consultation process with community sector and
industry stakeholders on the parenting services outcomes and strategies in July
2016. This has included workshops with current service providers, peak bodies,
industry stakeholders, state, commonwealth and local government, as well as
parent groups.
The
department is currently waiting for final feedback on service requirements and
proposes to go to open tender in early September 2016. Tenders are proposed to
close towards the end of October 2016, providing sufficient time for service
providers, if they have not already commenced, to develop their offer.
(2) The minister is satisfied that the time frame
to develop their offers is sufficient as the department has kept the
stakeholders informed of the service requirements and time frames throughout
the consultation process .
