I refer to page 16 of the Forest Products Commission 2024/25 Annual Report regarding securing the future supply of timber for Western Australian homes, and I ask: (a) does the FPC model the annual requirement for pine timber for the WA housing market; (b) if not, how does the FPC assess annual pine timber requirements; (c) how much pine timber did FPC supply to local mills in 2024/25; (d) how many pine plantation hectares were harvested in 2024/25; and (e) how many pine plantation hectares will be available for harvest in the following years: (i) 2025/26; (ii) 2026/27; and (iii) 2027/28?

(a - b)      The FPC models the supply of pine logs to customers that produce structural timber under two State Agreements: Dardanup Pine Log Sawmill Agreement Act 1992 and the Wood Processing (Wesbeam) Agreement Act 2002 . Customers adjust their requirements in accordance with the demand of the housing market and within the limits of volumes available under the State Agreements.
(c)            In 2024/25, the FPC supplied approximately 498 620 cubic meters of pine logs to local mills that produce structural timber.
(d)            For the year 2024/25 around 1 425 hectares of pine plantations were clearfall harvested. Logs were also sold from thinning operations to mills that produce structural timber.
(e)            The approximate area of pine plantation scheduled for clearfall harvest is shown below. These areas do not include thinning operations.
(i)                         2025/26:  1 300 hectares
(ii)                       2026/27:  1 350 hectares
(iii)                     2027/28:  1 775 hectares
