I refer to the primary industries
workers regional travel and accommodation support scheme announced on 9 September
2020.
(1) How many
people have registered their interest through the Department of Primary
Industries and Regional Development's registration website to date?
(2) When will
the scheme guidelines be made available, given that the scheme rebate period
will commence on 21 September 2020?
(3) How soon
after application will ineligible applicants be advised that they are not able
to receive rebates?
(4) How soon after claims are
submitted will rebates be paid?

his excellent question. On behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Food, I provide
the following answer.
(1) As of 17
September 2020, there had been 391 unique user registrations.
(2) Guidelines will
be emailed to those who have pre-registered and available online no later than
21 September 2020.
(3) Applicants
will be contacted within five business days of assessment if their application
is ineligible.
(4) Applicants
have been advised to allow up to four weeks to process applications depending
on demand, with payments made every two weeks to approved applicants. We will
try to reduce the processing time if possible.
