(1) - (2) The salaries below are in accordance with the
Western Australia Salaries and Allowances Act 1975
(Regulation No.3). Salary for particular officers will vary depending on the nature of their appointment (tenured or non tenured).

(3). The number of officers in receipt of the listed allowances varies significantly as positions are vacated and filled through the usual transfer cycles. It would require significant effort and resources to collate specific payments on the extensive range of allowances available to individual officers. In addition details relating to covert officers will not be provided due to operational sensitivities.
Additional allowances are paid to officers in the following areas:
· Police Mounted Section
· Police Pipe Band
· Tactical Response Group
· Internal Investigations
· Covert Operations
Additional allowances are also paid in recognition of skills developed by Forensic Officers, Detectives and other Investigators.
(4). Officers in country postings receive Locality and District Allowances relative to their locations. Some officers also receive rental and air conditioning subsidies.
Officers in Multifunctional Police Facilities receive a special location allowance along with free rental, electricity and water.
