(1)-(2) The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) prepares a program of prescribed burning in the south-west that aims to burn around 200,000 hectares each year. The individual years are managed and reported on a financial year basis.
The following shows the area (hectares) prescribed burnt per year in the south-west by DEC:
2007/08 - 143,681
2008/09 - 151,818
2009/10 - 212,017
2010/11 - 136,746
