Key commitments that form part of the Government's policy for the Mid West Region include: · Allocating $35 million for the redevelopment of the Geraldton Regional Hospital; · Working with the local government to increase services and facilities for seniors; · Working with local interest groups to establish a higher education campus with particular focus on fisheries, aquaculture and marine biology; · Supporting the Geraldton Community Patrol through increased funding; · Support for strategic transport infrastructure which includes the port enhancement project, Southern Transport Corridor and the east-west (Mt Magnet-Agnew) road. · Support for the Geraldton Universities Centre.
