PERTH–DARWIN HIGHWAY
I refer to the Perth–Darwin highway. Can the minister tell the house how much money has been allocated in the 2010-11 budget for progressing this specific project? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The Perth–Darwin highway forms part of the national highway and is a funding responsibility of the federal government. No federal funds have been allocated to the project at this stage; however, Main Roads Western Australia has been progressing the planning and alignment selection to ensure that works can proceed at an early date, subject to funding.
