I refer to the Department for Child Protection's (DCP) Carnarvon Office, and I ask: (a) For the years 2016-17 and 2017-18 , how many of the DCP staff at the office were: (i) Full-Time; (ii) Part-Time; and (iii) Contract; (b) How many cases did DCP staff work on in the years 2016-17 and 2017-18 in the office; (c) For the financial year 2019-20 how many of the DCP staff allocated for the office will be: (i) Full-Time; (ii) Part-Time; and (iii) Contract; (d) What positions, if any, have not been filled in the office: (i) Please explain the reasons why any positions have not been filled; and (e) How many cases is the office currently working on in the year 2019-20?

Staff in the Murchison region also provide additional support to child protection staff operating from the Carnarvon Office. This includes business/administrative support and specialist support services provided by roles that include Aboriginal Practice Leaders, Psychologists, and Senior Practice Development Officers.
(b) The Department of Communities manages children in care cases by region. The number of children in the care of the Chief Executive Officer in the Murchison Region was as follows:

- An offer of employment was made in January 2020 to fill the position locally, however was declined by the applicant. A subsequent recruitment campaign will be underway in February 2020 to fill the current position.
(e) The number of children in the care of Chief Executive Officer in the Murchison region
as at 30 June 2019 was 247.
