I refer to the RAC 'Risky Roads Survey 2024/25', and the results in relation to the top 10 risky intersections in Metropolitan Perth, and I ask: (a) for the Canning Highway, Rome Road and Hislop Road intersection: (i) how many serious crashes occurred at or near the intersection in 2024; (ii) how many fatal crashes occurred at or near the intersection in 2024; and (iii) what steps have been taken, or are being planned, to remediate risk at the intersection?

(a) (i)-(ii) There was one serious crash but no fatalities
(iii) In 2022 a signalised mid-block pedestrian crossing was installed on Canning Highway, adjacent to the Rome Road intersection.
In January 2025 the City of Melville contacted Main Roads to request reconsideration of installing traffic signals at the Canning / Hislop / Rome intersections. A Road Safety Audit was completed in May 2025 and the findings of the audit are being considered as well as other potential options to improve safety at this location.
