WESTERN POWER — HEAD OFFICE BUILDINGS
972. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the proposed sale of the Western Power buildings
in Perth.
(1) How many people currently work in the main Wellington
Street building?
(2) How many people currently work in the detached
three-level building fronting Murray Street?
(3) Has
Western Power undertaken a business case for the sale of these buildings and
the lease of new office accommodation?
(4) If yes to (3), what is the estimated annual saving
expected from this move?
(5) What was the estimated annual rent for new office
accommodation used in the business case?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) As at 30 June
2015, 1 251 full-time equivalent and 82 part-time equivalent staff worked in
Western Power's Wellington Street building.
(2) Zero.
(3) Western
Power sought expressions of interest in its head office buildings in order to
determine market prices. This information will be put into the business case to
decide whether to proceed with the sale of the building and the lease of other
accommodation.
(4)–(5) To be determined; see (3).
