Early Childhood Education:
I refer to the answer provided to
question without notice 458 asked on 10 May 2023 regarding the national
Preschool Reform Funding Agreement that references work being in progress to
contract an appropriate entity to receive, administer and distribute the early
childhood education and care sector's ''funding to follow the
child'' or FTFC for 2023.
(1) When is a contract
for an appropriate entity to receive, administer and distribute the early
childhood education and care sector's FTFC expected to be finalised?
(2) Can the minister advise when
the sector is expected to receive its funding for 2023?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Early Childhood Education. The Department of Communities advises the
following.
(1) Negotiations
are continuing with an appropriate entity and a contract is likely to be
finalised by 31 August 2023.
(2) The early childhood sector is
expected to receive funding for 2023 by 31 December 2023.
