I thank the member for some notice of the question. (1)-(4) I am not aware of the details of Mrs Simpson’s case but I am aware that the matter was referred to, and is being considered by, the Office of Health Review. The Office of Health Review is an appropriate agency to inquire into any matters of concern that the family may have. I am advised that because a death certificate has been issued, the matter of autopsy or referral to the coroner does not arise. I am also advised that the family has been kept progressively informed by the Office of Health Review and will be advised of the outcome of the inquiries by that office. That information is expected to be made available to the family in the near future. I have confidence in the procedures and services provided at the Joondalup Health Campus. I am not aware of anything in the area of infection control, as raised by the member for Thornlie, that would indicate any problems in the treatment that is provided. However, if the member for Thornlie or anybody else is aware of anything they feel they should make known me I will ensure that it is investigated.
