I will say two
things. I note that the Liberal health spokesperson, when interjecting on a
previous question, said that it would take another six months for the contract.
She said that in this chamber. What I want to say is that I have full
confidence in the process and I am very confident—
Mr Basil Zempilas: When will it open, minister?
Mr John Carey: Can I just say this: it is a live
procurement process. If you have a live procurement process, you do not do
running commentary on those negotiations. The simple reason is this: it is
because you would put that project and value for money for WA at risk.
Mr Basil Zempilas: You said it is on time. What
is the time?
Mr John Carey: You put it at risk for WA taxpayers.
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Members!
Mr John Carey: I will be very clear again: we will be
making an announcement soon regarding the outcomes of the negotiations, and I
look forward to making that announcement.
